NeoTerra Group (LSE:TERA), the African critical minerals exploration and development company, has selected Valentine Enterprises to lead the pre-feasibility study at its Monte Muambe Rare Earths Project in Mozambique.
The study is funded by a $1.875 million grant from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), which the project secured to advance its rare earths component to the pre-feasibility stage.
Valent has brought in SGS North America for metallurgy, mineral testing and process engineering, and New Dominion Consulting for supply chain, sustainability and procurement support.
The appointment still requires final USTDA sign-off, which NeoTerra expects shortly.
Work is scheduled to start next month with a kick-off meeting and site visit, followed by a short drilling campaign to collect representative metallurgical samples.
Monte Muambe carries a resource of 13.6 million tonnes at 2.42% total rare earth oxides, alongside fluorspar and gallium credits, and sits under a 25-year mining licence.
"Valent, SGS and New Dominion all bring a reputation for excellence, and together they're the right team to deliver this Study", said Cedric Simonet, chief executive of NeoTerra.
He added that he is looking to advance the project through drilling and metallurgy toward securing its supply chain.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
NeoTerra has secured Valentine Enterprises to lead the pre-feasibility study at Monte Muambe, backed by a $1.875 million USTDA grant and supported by SGS North America and New Dominion Consulting. This represents execution on the prefeasibility/engineering contract award expected under the USTDA programme, moving the rare-earths component from exploration toward development with drilling and metallurgical sampling to begin next month.
The appointment operationalizes the USTDA funding and signals progression toward a formal pre-feasibility study, anchoring the project's path to development. Success in the drilling campaign and metallurgical work will be critical to validating the 13.6 million tonne rare-earth resource and the co-recovery economics of fluorspar, gallium, and heavy rare earths that underpin Monte Muambe's investment case.
