URU Metals (LSE:URU) said it has confirmed Target 1 as its priority drill target at the Zeb Nickel Project after final interpretation of a ground geophysics programme.
URU Metals is a South Africa-focused critical metals explorer and first flagged Target 1 from an airborne Spectrem electromagnetic survey flown in 2025.
Ground surveys returned coherent electromagnetic, gravity and magnetic responses, indicating a conductive, relatively dense and geologically distinct subsurface body.
Those features can be consistent with sulphide-bearing ultramafic rocks and align with the company's search for nickel-copper-PGE mineralisation in feeder zones.
Target 1 lies within URU's interpreted chonolith-style magmatic conduit that the company believes links the Uitloop I and Uitloop II ultramafic bodies and can focus sulphide accumulation where pathways narrow or interact with host rocks.
Previous hole Z017 intersected 2.25 m at 1.67% Ni in semi-massive to massive sulphide, a result URU cites as supporting the feeder-margin targeting approach.
"Target 1 sits within our broader feeder-system model, which we believe is one of the most prospective settings on the Project for higher-grade nickel-copper-PGE sulphide mineralisation," John Zorbas, Chief Executive Officer, said.
URU will integrate the Target 1 data into its Leapfrog 3D geological model before finalising drill-hole locations and sequencing, and the next drilling programme will remain flexible to test both Platreef-style and higher-grade massive-sulphide targets.
Final drill planning will follow target ranking, land access arrangements and contractor selection.
