Concurrent Technologies secures $7m of orders from US defence contractor

Concurrent Technologies (AIM:CNC) announced it has secured $7m of production orders from a major US Tier 1 defence prime contractor, converting a design contract first signed last year into recurring manufacturing revenue.

The AIM-listed designer and manufacturer of high-performance computer products and mission-critical systems, which builds its products at its Colchester facility for defence and aerospace customers, said the orders cover initial production of custom single board computers, split into a $2.8m tranche placed in May and a $4.2m tranche just received, with deliveries scheduled across 2026 and 2027.

The orders follow a $5.2m design service contract announced on 19 September 2025, which was later upsized by $1m in the company's January trading update, taking the total programme value with this customer to $13.2m.

Concurrent said the customer had previously handled this design work in-house and is now shifting its manufacturing plans to outsource both design and production to the company.

"The joint strategic decision to transfer design from our customer to Concurrent has enabled us to secure these additional orders," said chief executive Miles Adcock, adding that he expects defence primes "to increasingly outsource their hardware design requirements over the long term, creating further opportunities for work of this nature."

The win adds to a run of design-to-production conversions this year, including a $9.4m order from a US defence prime for its TR-LBE 3U VPX computing board announced in July and a roughly £17m four-year European order for VME-based computer boards announced in June, both of which underpinned record first-half results of £23.1m revenue and order intake of £46.9m.
