EDX Medical Group (AIM:EDX), which develops digital diagnostic products for early disease detection, has commenced a new testing phase covering 12,500 men as lead delivery partner in the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative.

The not-for-profit Initiative aims to test 25,000 men in Scotland, with more than 12,500 already screened between the end of March and June. A further 31 testing sessions are scheduled from this week until November, offering free Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) tests to men aged 40 to 80.

EDX Medical supplies the PSA tests, organises testing events and analyses results through its own laboratory services, while participants' blood samples are added to the Company's biobank for further research.

Almost all 31 upcoming sessions were fully booked within hours of appointments opening.

Phase 1 results uncovered significant numbers of men with all stages of prostate cancer, including many with very high PSA levels, with final Phase 2 data due once analysis is complete.

"We have already confirmed prostate cancer in men (stages 1 to 4) who displayed no symptoms whatsoever," said Professor Sir Chris Evans, founder of EDX Medical.

Employers hosting the second phase include Royal Bank of Scotland, EDF Energy, GSK, Police Scotland, Dundee City Council and Caledonian MacBrayne, alongside public events at Kilmarnock and Ayr United football clubs.

The Initiative, launched in March by Olympian Sir Chris Hoy, who has stage 4 prostate cancer, is run with support from the Graham Fulford Charitable Trust, with findings to be shared with NHS Scotland once analysis concludes.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

EDX Medical has scaled its Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative role from 12,500 men screened in phase 1 to leading delivery of a further 12,500 in phase 2, with 31 testing sessions fully booked within hours. The company supplies PSA tests, runs logistics, analyses results through its own lab, and builds a biobank—generating immediate revenue while capturing valuable research data and demonstrating operational capacity at scale across major employers (RBS, EDF, GSK, Police Scotland) and public venues.

Investment case

This represents material execution of EDX's corporate health screening strategy at scale. Phase 1 uncovered symptomatic prostate cancer across all stages, validating the screening model; phase 2's rapid booking and employer roster (including FTSE constituents) signal both demand and credibility, though final revenue impact depends on completion and NHS adoption of findings.
