Pathos Communications (AIM:NEWS), the AIM-listed technology-enabled PR firm, will sponsor the World Media Congress in Madrid between 13 and 15 October, the company said on Monday.
Pathos will sponsor the event's board and VIP lunch and present to attendees, who include senior decision-makers from top-tier news publishers.
The congress is organised by FIPP, formerly the International Federation of Periodical Publishers, part of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers.
Publisher relationships sit at the centre of Pathos's business model, with the company placing media content, television appearances, podcasts and authored articles for its client base, which it puts at approximately 9,000.
"Our publisher relationships, where leading news sources trust our team and technology as a source of high quality editorial content and an important revenue source, are key to our business, and form one of our most durable moats," said Omar Hamdi, founder and chief executive of Pathos.
He added that the congress would bring together publishers Pathos already works with alongside others it does not, as the company looks "to further strengthen and expand our offerings for our c. 9000 clients, and fuel accelerated growth in the business."
Alastair Lewis, executive director at FIPP/Consumer & Special Interest Media, WAN-IFRA, said the organisation, founded in 1925, connects publishers, creators, platforms and innovators, and looks forward to working with Pathos at the event.
