Blackbird (AIM:BIRD) (AIM: BIRD) told investors it has built Epidemic Sound’s music library directly into elevate.io, so creators and teams can add licensed tracks without leaving the browser editor. The integration lets users search, preview and drop tracks into timelines; licensing – which "can be tailored to users' requirements" – is handled when the video is exported.

Epidemic Sound supplies a 100% IP-owned, royalty-free catalogue and an API that powers the integration. The company noted that this music appears in content generating more than 3 billion daily views and is used by brands including GoPro, Coca‑Cola, Apple and Levi's. The announcement also cited platform-wide engagement data, noting music features in 90% of TikTok’s most-viewed videos, with 81% of marketers saying it enhances engagement and identity-aligned audio making brands up to 96% more likely to be remembered.

The deal is a product integration rather than a licensing joint venture: Blackbird contributes elevate.io’s cloud-native, browser-based editing environment and workflow, while Epidemic Sound supplies catalogue access, rights ownership and licensing mechanics via its API. All elevate.io users are said to gain immediate access as part of the platform’s current release.

"Music is fundamental to great storytelling, it's what gives video content its emotion and energy. So rather than sending creators off to find tracks elsewhere, we've built it straight into the elevate.io platform. World-class music, right there in users' workflows. No interruptions, just creativity and complete peace of mind. This is a huge moment for the Company and we're incredibly excited," said Ian McDonough, Blackbird's Executive Chair.

Epidemic Sound, meanwhile, added: "This is an excellent example of the Epidemic Sound API enabling creative platforms to grow their customer offering through music. The elevate.io team have done an amazing job integrating our catalogue into their collaborative video editor and we're excited to see how their creators and brands use our tracks to take their content to the next level. We're delighted to continue supporting the development of the elevate.io platform through world class-music and soundtracking."
