Bluebird pivots to gold and Bitcoin streaming after Korea exit

The small-cap has secured an option over a 64,000-ounce gold resource as it reshapes itself around scarce monetary assets following the disposal of its South Korean subsidiaries.

Bluebird Mining Ventures (LSE:BMV), the gold streaming, mining and treasury company listed in London, has secured an option over the Santa Teresa Gold Project as the first concrete step in a strategic overhaul.

The move follows the disposal of the company's South Korean subsidiaries, announced on 2 September, which chief executive Sath Ganesarajah said closes "the legacy chapter of BMV" and leaves a simpler corporate structure.

Santa Teresa carries an existing NI 43-101 Inferred Mineral Resource of 64,000 ounces of gold at 8.7 g/t, giving Bluebird exposure to an established, high-grade asset rather than early-stage exploration risk.

The company is now building a revitalised operating plan around three pillars: Energy Harvesting, capital-light exposure to Bitcoin streaming and related infrastructure; Metal Harvesting, streaming and royalty exposure to gold; and Treasury, the accumulation of Bitcoin and gold.

The existing Bitcoin streams generated approximately $13,105 in August, while its Indicative Treasury Asset Value rose 21% to around $877,000 on gains across its Bitcoin and gold-linked holdings.

Its Indicative Streaming Asset Value fell to $124,196 from $449,059 the prior month, a drop the Company attributed largely to a revised valuation methodology for mining equipment rather than any change in operating capacity or revenue.

"Our focus now turns from restructuring to execution," Ganesarajah said, pointing to further progress expected across all three strategic pillars.

Bluebird expects to provide a fuller update on its revitalised operating plan during October.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Bluebird has pivoted from exploration toward streaming and treasury accumulation in gold and Bitcoin, securing an option on a 64,000-ounce gold resource and reshaping around three pillars: Energy Harvesting (Bitcoin streaming), Metal Harvesting (gold streaming/royalties), and Treasury (Bitcoin and gold accumulation). The move follows disposal of South Korean subsidiaries in September and marks a shift away from early-stage exploration risk toward capital-light, commodity-linked revenue streams; the company's first full month of Bitcoin streaming operation occurred in July, and August Bitcoin streams generated $13,105 with Treasury Asset Value up 21% to $877,000, though Streaming Asset Value fell sharply due to a revised valuation methodology for mining equipment rather than operational decline.

Investment case

The pivot from junior explorer to streaming and treasury operator materially simplifies the capital structure and reduces exploration risk, but the company remains pre-revenue on a consolidated basis and dependent on execution of three concurrent strategic pillars. The sharp month-on-month drop in Streaming Asset Value—despite no stated change in operating capacity—signals valuation volatility that warrants clarity when the fuller operating plan arrives in October.
