Petards Group (AIM:PEG), the AIM-listed developer of security, communications and surveillance systems, has received orders totalling more than £0.9 million through its subsidiary Petards Joyce-Loebl.
The larger award, worth more than £0.5 million, covers eyeTrain onboard surveillance systems for a customer retrofitting additional train sets within an existing fleet, building on equipment PJL has previously supplied to the same operator.
First deliveries are scheduled for later this year, with project completion expected during 2027.
The defence award, valued at £0.4 million, is from a UK prime defence contractor for proprietary safety equipment used in military aerospace applications, with delivery scheduled to complete during 2026.
Chairman Raschid Abdullah said the contracts "add to Petards order book in support of its revenues for both the current and the next financial years," and noted it was "particularly pleasing to see another eyeTrain retrofit opportunity come to fruition following the improvement in trading seen at Petards Rail that was reported for 2025."
QRO orders
Separately announced that its subsidiary QRO Solutions has received purchase orders worth £0.5 million in aggregate for the supply of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) equipment and associated support services.
The larger order, at £0.4 million, comes from an existing police force customer in the north of England and is the first call-off under a four-year framework contract Petards previously announced, covering the supply and installation of NASBox roadside ANPR systems as well as in-car Harrier Mini ANPR cameras.
The second order, worth £0.1 million, is from the Government of Gibraltar and marks QRO's entry into that territory as a new overseas customer; the equipment will form part of Gibraltar's recently announced enhanced border security measures.
Both orders are scheduled for delivery within the current financial year.
Chairman Raschid Abdullah said the contracts demonstrate "the confidence that existing and new customers have in the ability of QRO's technologies to meet the exacting standards required for their high profile security and surveillance applications."
