Informa has appointed Tom Glocer as Chair-Elect, concluding a succession process that began at the start of 2026 and will see him replace outgoing chair John Rishton.

Glocer brings more than a decade as chief executive of Reuters Group and Thomson Reuters, followed by over 15 years as a non-executive director at major international companies.

He currently serves as Lead Independent Director at both Morgan Stanley and Merck & Co, and chairs the audit committee at Publicis Groupe.

The transition is structured in two stages: Glocer joins as a non-executive director on 1 October, with the full handover to chair expected in 2027.

"Informa is a market leader in B2B, with tremendous potential for continuing growth and expansion," Glocer said, adding he looks forward to working with chief executive Stephen Carter on those opportunities.

Group Chief Executive Stephen Carter noted that Glocer's background in technology, data and international markets would be valuable as the company pursues further growth, and paid tribute to Rishton's nine-year tenure during which Informa expanded both geographically and by industry category.
