Quantum Data Energy (LSE:QDE) announced it has completed construction, commissioning and grid energisation of its Hindlip 7.5 MW flexible generation project, with commercial operations now imminent.
The London-listed company, which trades as QDE, said the site was delivered for a forecast spend of approximately £4.63 million against an approved capital budget of £5 million.
The high-voltage grid connection energised on 15 July, followed by G99 grid compliance testing on 22 July, confirming the asset's eligibility to export power to the network.
All three Rolls-Royce MTU gensets have completed commissioning, performance testing and grid constraint testing, and civil, electrical and gas installation works are finished across the site.
Hindlip is fully funded in partnership with Powertree, as previously disclosed.
The remaining step is finalising operations and maintenance arrangements, after which the gensets will be formally signed off.
Final snagging and handover is scheduled for September, with QDE targeting commercial operations for Hindlip during the third quarter, in line with its previous guidance.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
QDE's 7.5 MW Hindlip flexible generation project has completed grid connection and compliance testing, with commercial operations targeted for Q3 2026. The project came in £370,000 under its £5 million budget—a 7.4% underspend—and all major technical milestones (genset commissioning, grid energisation on 15 July, G99 compliance on 22 July) are now complete, leaving only O&M finalisation and September handover before revenue generation begins.
Hindlip's on-time, under-budget delivery validates QDE's project execution capability and removes near-term construction risk from the company's flexible generation portfolio. The asset is now positioned to begin earning revenue in Q3, supporting the company's cash generation profile.
