Corero Network Security (AIM:CNS), the AIM-listed distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection specialist, has launched AI-Augmented Cloud-Assist for its SmartWall ONE platform.

The new feature adds cloud-delivered AI analysis, threat intelligence and policy optimisation to Corero's existing automated DDoS defences, aimed at organisations including AI data centres, NeoCloud providers and service providers.

Corero said cybercriminals are increasingly using AI to develop and evolve attack campaigns, requiring defenders to match that speed with faster identification of emerging threats.

AI Cloud-Assist analyses attack telemetry in the cloud and recommends new protection policies that can be applied manually or automatically within seconds, while Corero's security experts retain oversight of the process.

The system creates what the company calls a continuous intelligence loop between its cloud infrastructure and on-premises SmartWall ONE deployments, intended to cut response times and improve mitigation accuracy at the network edge.

"This capability is largely missing in most DDoS solutions, and it is essential going forward. This is the future of DDoS protection," said Carl Herberger, Corero's chief executive.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Corero has launched AI Cloud-Assist, integrating cloud-based threat intelligence and AI analysis with its on-premises SmartWall ONE DDoS platform to enable faster threat detection and policy deployment. The move directly addresses the company's stated strategic pivot: it is positioning CORE platform features as non-DDoS offerings to cross-sell, and this AI capability targets high-value segments (AI data centres, NeoCloud providers, service providers) where attack sophistication is rising fastest. The feature arrives as the company swings to profitability and grows ARR, giving it a tangible product differentiator to defend its market position against rivals.

Investment case

The launch strengthens Corero's competitive moat in a market where AI-driven attacks are accelerating, but the investment case hinges on whether enterprises will adopt the cloud-assist model at scale and whether it can command premium pricing. Near-term, the feature is a product announcement with no revenue impact disclosed; the real test comes in customer adoption metrics and contract values when interim results are published in mid-September 2026.
