Arkadian Strategic Metals launches technical programme at Greenland project

Arkadian Strategic Metals (AIM:AKN), the AIM-listed strategic metals and gold exploration company, has initiated a coordinated 2026 technical and environmental work programme at its Motzfeldt Critical Metals Project in southern Greenland, with the stated goal of establishing a pathway to an exploitation licence application.

The programme spans four workstreams running concurrently through the summer and into the fourth quarter.

SRK Consulting is reviewing the existing JORC Mineral Resource Estimate and historic drill data, with the aim of defining the drilling requirements needed to upgrade and expand the resource.

Engineering consultancy NIRAS is conducting a gap analysis covering transportation routes and mine infrastructure options, while Danish firm BioApp will carry out ecological baseline studies to feed into a future environmental impact assessment, with a Project Description targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

Hyperspectral imaging specialist Theia X will undertake satellite-based remote sensing in July to map rare earth element minerals at surface at the Aries deposit, where bulk sampling is also planned, followed by field-based hyperspectral work at the Merino Prospect in July and August.

Final results from a first-pass metallurgical test work programme being conducted in South Africa are expected within weeks.

At the Clogau St David's Gold Mine in north Wales, Level 5 underground development has been paused for a detailed sampling and mineralogical review, while winch repairs, a crusher service and bat surveys are either complete or ongoing.
