Asiamet Resources (AIM:ARS) on Wednesday announced it will replace CEO Darryn McClelland with Mudit Goenka, the company's current Head of Corporate Finance, effective 31 October.
The AIM-listed Company, which sold its KSK copper project in September and has since repositioned itself from project developer to a focus on strategic and corporate initiatives, is also losing Non-Executive Director Dominic Heaton from its board, also effective 31 October.
Goenka joined Asiamet in November 2024 after more than a decade at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and has been closely involved in the Company's corporate and strategic work, including the financing process that led to the KSK sale.
As chief executive, Goenka will work alongside Chairman Tony Manini on stakeholder engagement, options for advancing the Beutong project, and the search for new opportunities in exploration and mining.
"The bankable feasibility study delivered for the BKM copper project by Darryn and his team underpinned value and contributed to the successful transaction for Asiamet shareholders", said Manini, adding that Goenka's "extensive transaction experience and understanding of Asiamet's assets and stakeholders position him well to lead the Company through its next phase."
McClelland had led the Company through the KSK project's advance to feasibility stage and oversaw the completion of its sale.
