Rockfire drilling deepens Molaoi zinc-germanium mineralisation

Hole HMO-019 extends high-grade zinc, silver and germanium intersections 50 metres below a previous hit, with grades trending higher at depth.

Rockfire Resources (AIM:ROCK), the base metal, critical mineral and precious metal explorer, reported new assay results from its 100%-owned Molaoi zinc deposit in Greece.

Hole HMO-019 returned six mineralised intersections, the strongest a 0.10-metre section grading 27.8% zinc, 87.6 grams per tonne silver and 84.1 grams per tonne germanium, among the highest recent germanium values from the project's drilling.

A separate 3.30-metre interval graded 18.9% zinc, 37.2 g/t silver and 25.0 g/t germanium.

The hole extends mineralisation roughly 50 metres deeper than HMO-018, which had intersected 3.13 metres at 6.0% zinc, 52.7 g/t silver and 18.2 g/t germanium.

Chief executive David Price said the newer hole's grades exceed those in HMO-018, "suggesting that grade may increase at depth", though he cautioned this remains unconfirmed pending further drilling.

Diamond drilling to upgrade the deposit's Inferred Resource to Indicated status continues, with hole HMO-021 now in progress and assays from HMO-020 still pending.

Rockfire is separately seeking quotes for comminution testing, compressive-strength analysis and ore-sorting trials to feed into its planned feasibility study on zinc, silver, germanium and lead extraction at Molaoi.

The company's new drilling rig remains on track to land in Athens in late September or early October.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Rockfire's HMO-019 hole at Molaoi extends zinc-germanium mineralisation 50 metres deeper than the prior HMO-018, with grades trending higher: a 3.30-metre interval graded 18.9% zinc and 25.0 g/t germanium, exceeding HMO-018's 6.0% zinc and 18.2 g/t germanium over 3.13 metres. The company is advancing resource definition drilling toward Indicated status and preparing feasibility-study inputs, with a new rig arriving in late September or early October.

Investment case

The depth extension and grade improvement at Molaoi reinforce the deposit's potential to support a larger, higher-quality resource base. Rockfire remains in early-stage resource definition; the feasibility study pathway and rig arrival are near-term catalysts, but the deposit's economic viability and capital requirements remain unquantified.
