Great Western Mining Corporation (AIM:GWMO) said it has finished initial exploration programmes across the roughly 3 km corridor between the Defender‑Pine Crow tungsten prospect and the existing M2 copper resource as it prepares for a July drilling campaign.
The work package included a detailed gravity survey by Zonge International covering about 3 km by 500 m, geological mapping and grab sampling of skarn occurrences, and four machine‑cut trenches with all samples submitted for assay.
"The completion of these programmes marks another important step in accelerating the Defender‑Pine Crow tungsten project towards drilling and resource definition," Great Western CEO Ed Loye said.
Three trenches were cut between Defender and Pine Crow and a fourth at the historic Widowmaker workings, roughly 2 km west of Defender and midway toward M2, while proposed drill pad locations and access roads between Dough God and Defender have been selected and submitted to the BLM for permitting.
The company has also dispatched a 750 kg representative metallurgical bulk sample to Eriez in Pennsylvania for flotation test work to support future development studies.
Assay results are awaited, drilling is scheduled to start in July, and the fully funded 2026 programme is designed to deliver an initial maiden resource estimate by the end of the fourth quarter.
