Oberon Investments Group (AQSE Growth Market:OBE) has raised approximately £1.4 million before expenses through a placing of approximately 68.76 million new shares at 2.1p each.

The integrated investment management, financial planning, asset management and corporate advisory group said the proceeds will strengthen its financial position and provide additional working capital as it continues its growth strategy.

Chairman Michael Cuthbert and non-executive director Jonathan Eddis both participated, taking stakes of 0.17% and 0.05% respectively in the enlarged share capital.

"It is particularly encouraging that approximately £300,000 has been invested by our own staff and directors," said chief executive Simon McGivern, adding that this "represents a meaningful vote of confidence from within the business."

McGivern said the company enters its new financial year "with a stronger business, an increasingly recurring revenue base and continued support from both our people and our shareholders."
