Light Science Technologies Holdings (AIM:LST) has won a follow-on order worth approximately £342,000 from a healthcare devices customer first secured in May.

The AIM-listed technology and manufacturing group, which serves markets including fire safety and food security, expects to recognise the revenue between November and February 2027.

It marks the client's first repeat order since the original contract was won, taking total order value from the relationship to more than £500,000.

The company's Contract Electronics Manufacturing (CEM) division is steering toward higher-margin work across defence, medical and healthcare sectors.

Supporting that shift, Light Science has invested approximately £112,000 in Automated Optical Inspection equipment with built-in artificial intelligence, aimed at handling smaller, more complex components typical of those target markets.

"We are establishing longer-term relationships with clients that have the ability to underpin repeat business opportunities, which is expected to result in increased visibility as we convert our pipeline," said chief executive Simon Deacon.

He added that rising automation and higher-level accreditations are supporting a shift in revenue mix toward technically complex, higher-margin work, positioning the CEM division for what he described as increasingly profitable growth.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Light Science's Contract Electronics Manufacturing division has secured a £342,000 repeat order from a healthcare client first won in May, taking the total relationship value past £500,000 and marking the customer's first reorder. The company is investing in automation and higher-level accreditations to shift its revenue mix toward technically complex, higher-margin work in defence, medical and healthcare sectors, with revenue from this order expected between November 2026 and February 2027.

Investment case

The repeat order validates the CEM division's ability to convert initial customer wins into recurring business, supporting management's stated strategy of establishing longer-term relationships. However, at £342,000, this single contract represents less than 7% of the £3.09m forward order book cited as a conversion catalyst in August, so its material impact on near-term revenue visibility remains limited.
