Oracle Power (LSE:ORCP) announced it has commenced diamond geotechnical drilling at the Northern Zone gold project, 25km east of Kalgoorlie.
The programme is designed to acquire whole‑rock core from the porphyry intrusion to provide structural and rock strength data for pit‑slope design and ongoing mine planning as the MDCP is advanced.
Naheed Memon, CEO of Oracle, said: "The analysis will provide critical structural and rock strength data for pit slope stability in final pit design work for the MDCP."
Four diamond holes of approximately 100-150 metres are planned, with core to be photographed, structurally logged and sampled in Kalgoorlie and selected whole‑core sent to Perth for laboratory testing.
Samples will undergo geotechnical tests including Unconfined Compressive Strength and Direct Shear to inform a stable, optimised pit design.
The company says conversion of the Northern Zone tenement to a Mining Lease is well advanced and expected shortly, and that MEGA Resources will provide all development and mining funding on a 50/50 profit‑share basis.
