Valereum (AQSE:VLRM), the AQSE and OTCQB-listed company targeting leadership in tokenised digital markets, said its partner Quorium Global Photonics SPC (QGP) has issued a new stablecoin, $VXRUP, natively on Ripple's XRP Ledger.

QGP told the company the stablecoin is the primary liquidity vehicle for its ecosystem and a significant step toward completing the transaction underpinning Valereum's digital asset strategy.

Valereum continues to hold 20,000 QMTN2601001 medium term notes at $10,000 per token under the original agreement announced on 29 January.

James Bannon, Valereum's chair, said the undertaking has been three years in the making for QGP and that "the Board remains committed to ensuring institutional-grade liquidity, and moving to completion with the crucial legitimacy in place."

Group chief executive Gary Cottle acknowledged the process has taken longer than expected but said the company remains hopeful the outcome will exceed its original roadmap.

Pieter Scholtz, QGP-SPC's managing director, said the venture is moving "from preparation to execution", adding that "the infrastructure is operational" and "the pathway to liquidity is clear."

Valereum said the valuation of its token holdings remains inherently uncertain and pointed investors to the risk notices accompanying the announcement.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Quorium Global Photonics has launched the $VXRUP stablecoin on Ripple's XRP Ledger as part of its liquidity framework under a partnership with Valereum, which holds 20,000 medium-term notes worth $200 million at agreed valuation. The stablecoin issuance represents progress on a transaction three years in development, though both Valereum's chair and CEO acknowledged delays and noted that operational infrastructure milestones are required before partner tokens can carry functional market value—a caveat the company emphasizes given the inherent uncertainty in valuing its token holdings.

Investment case

The stablecoin launch is a step toward completing Valereum's digital asset strategy, but the company's own disclosure that token valuations remain uncertain and that infrastructure must be operational before market value attaches means this announcement confirms progress on a long-delayed roadmap rather than de-risking the investment thesis. The $200 million notional exposure to QGP remains contingent on execution.
