Tomahawk Metals (Aquis:TMHK), quoted on the Aquis Stock Exchange Growth Market, reported a primary assay of 38.16 g/t gold from rock-chip sample TRC0011 at its Saturn Gold Project in Western Australia, with a repeat assay returning 44.85 g/t.
Six of the 32 primary samples collected returned more than 5 g/t gold, including grades of 18.69 g/t, 11.99 g/t and 7.15 g/t.
Fifteen samples returned at least 0.5 g/t gold and 27 of 32 came in above the laboratory detection limit, with analysis carried out by independent NATA-accredited lab Intertek Genalysis.
Tomahawk completed the acquisition of a 100% interest in Saturn in June, an exploration licence near the Koolyanobbing iron ore operations where historical records, unverified by the company, report a production grade of approximately 12 g/t gold.
Field mapping identified quartz veining and historical workings across a structural corridor roughly 3.7km wide, with individual veins traced up to 450m along strike and untested by drilling.
Previously unrecorded historical workings were also found in the northwestern part of the project.
"These high-grade surface results provide an encouraging first indication of the potential at Saturn," said Keith Coughlan, Tomahawk's Perth-based director, adding that the next phase will focus on systematic sampling, mapping and drill-target preparation.
The company said the mapped structures and assay results are consistent with an orogenic-style gold system, an interpretation follow-up work will aim to test.
Further mapping and sampling to define drill targets are planned, subject to technical review and funding.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
Tomahawk Metals' rock-chip sampling at its newly acquired Saturn Gold Project in Western Australia returned grades up to 44.85 g/t gold, with 6 of 32 samples exceeding 5 g/t and 27 of 32 above detection limit across a 3.7 km unmapped structural corridor. The company acquired Saturn in June and has now moved from desk review into field validation, with results consistent with an orogenic gold system and drill targets under preparation.
High-grade surface assays validate Saturn as an early-stage exploration asset and justify the June acquisition, but the company explicitly notes that further work is subject to funding—a material constraint for a microcap on the Aquis Growth Market. Drill results, not surface samples, will determine whether this becomes a material resource.
