Georgina Energy (LSE:GEX) told investors that its technical and operations team will visit the Mt Winter prospect in the Northern Territory's Amadeus Basin from 18 to 23 October, accessing the site from Alice Springs via the Mereenie oil and gas field.
The helium, hydrogen and natural gas explorer, which holds strategic exploration permits in Australia, said the inspection will cover road access, the proposed re-entry site, the existing airstrip and the layout of a planned seismic programme.
Mt Winter is one of two active development workstreams for Georgina, alongside the Hussar prospect in Western Australia, where the company is targeting a spud in September 2026.
The company cited 2U/P50 prospective resources at Mt Winter of 234 Bcf helium, 214 Bcf hydrogen and 1.7 Tcf gas, figures that mark a reduction from the 283 Bcf helium previously disclosed when it agreed Aboriginal Land Rights Act terms with the Central Land Council.
That land rights agreement has now been agreed by all parties, and Georgina said approval meetings with the Central Land Council and Traditional Owners are progressing towards a final formal authorisation meeting planned for mid-November.
Settlement arrangements for Georgina's acquisition of a 100% interest in EP155 are under way, with completion against Mosman Oil & Gas, now renamed Quantum Helium, to follow once the Northern Territory Minister for Mines and Energy grants the tenement.
Georgina said it has opened initial discussions with Ensign Energy Drilling and other contractors over rig selection for Mt Winter, having already contracted Ensign's Rig 970 for the Hussar campaign.
Chief executive Anthony Hamilton said the site inspection will allow the company to prepare civil engineering plans and environmental approvals that, "similar to Hussar, will facilitate the arrival of a drill rig".
The formal Central Land Council and Traditional Owner authorisation meeting planned for mid-November stands as the next milestone toward ministerial grant of EP155.
