Journeo (AIM:JNEO) has received purchase orders totalling £1.3m from Metroline Manchester for on-board bus safety systems and cloud-based software services.

The provider of intelligent systems for transport networks will supply digital CCTV and its digital wing mirror technology, known as Journeo CMS, for installation on new Wrightbus Electroliner electric vehicles entering Metroline Manchester's fleet later this year.

Metroline Manchester, part of ComfortDelGro, operates more than 400 buses across four Transport for Greater Manchester Bee Network franchises.

Most of the hardware installation revenue is expected to be recognised in the current financial year, with recurring software licence and support revenues extending through 2027 and beyond.

Chief executive Russ Singleton said the orders demonstrate "continued demand for integrated safety, connectivity and remote management solutions that help operators improve passenger and driver safety, while enabling faster and more effective incident response."

The recurring software tail is the sharper detail here: hardware delivers a near-term revenue hit, but the licence and support stream gives Journeo visibility beyond the installation cycle.
