Reveille Resources appoints Mike Pompeo as board chairman

Reveille Resources (LSE:REV), the UK-listed uranium explorer focused on historical deposits in northern Italy, has appointed The Hon. Michael R. Pompeo as Non-Executive Chairman.

The appointment is subject to completion of regulatory due diligence and onboarding requirements, including documentation required by the company's Aquis Corporate Adviser, Allenby Capital.

Pompeo served as the 70th US Secretary of State from 2018 to 2021 and as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from 2017 to 2018, having earlier served three terms in the US House of Representatives for Kansas. He currently sits on the boards of VEON, ACG Metals and Cyabra, and is a partner at US private-equity firm Niobrara Capital Partners.

Reveille is advancing exploration licence applications over the Novazza and Val Vedello projects in Lombardy, which the company describes as Italy's largest known uranium deposits, through the country's environmental impact assessment and regulatory approval process.

The sites carry historical estimates of about 15.8 million pounds of U3O8, drawn from more than 87,000 metres of historical drilling and roughly 17 kilometres of underground development, though these figures are not reported under current internationally recognised standards.

Pompeo's mandate as chairman includes advising on the company's positioning around energy security and nuclear-fuel supply chains, supporting engagement with Italian institutional stakeholders and US investors, and helping the board evaluate uranium opportunities in Italy and other Western-aligned jurisdictions.

"Reveille is not here to promise immediate production," Pompeo said, adding that the job now is "to explore responsibly, define the opportunity and establish what may be possible."

Pompeo commented: "Europe’s strength and strategic autonomy will depend on its ability to secure reliable supplies of the materials on which its energy system depends, working with trusted partners and reducing dependence on sources that may be subject to geopolitical pressure. No country should be able to hold Europe hostage over its energy security.

"Uranium is not simply another commodity: it is a strategic metal that underpins nuclear generation, industrial resilience and long-term energy independence."

The appointment is said to cary personal resonance as Pompeo is of Italian heritage with family roots in Abruzzo, a connection the company says reinforces its long-term commitment to Italy, where certain of its largest shareholders, directors and founders are Italian.

Pompeo's appointment runs for an initial three-year term, and the company will issue him options over 7 million shares, fully vested and immediately exercisable at 7.25p, the closing middle-market price on 5 October.

Following the appointment, Andrea Cattaneo, chief executive of Zenith Energy and Reveille's largest shareholder, moves from Chairman to Non-Executive Deputy Chairman.

Executive Director Ippolito Ingo Cattaneo said Pompeo's decision to join "is a powerful endorsement of the opportunity at hand" and that his share options "align his interests directly with the creation of long-term value for all shareholders."
