Frontier Developments (AIM:FDEV) has appointed Dan Lazarides as Chief Marketing Officer, adding him to the Cambridge-based games studio's executive board.

Lazarides will lead Frontier's publishing and commercial teams across its Creative Management Simulation (CMS) portfolio, which includes franchises such as Elite. He joins from SEGA Europe, where he spent seven years as Senior Vice President Marketing, including defining publishing strategy for its Strategy and Simulation titles.

Before SEGA, Lazarides spent six years at Bethesda Softworks, covering brands including Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, and later served as global business director for Arkane Studios on Deathloop and Dishonored 2. He succeeds Jo Cooke in the role, who moved into the Chief Executive Officer seat in January.

The hire follows what Frontier called record financial results reported in June and a studio of the year win at the Develop:Star awards in Brighton.

"His leadership in this genre will continue Frontier's upwards momentum," Cooke said, adding that the appointment "highlights our focus on our communities."

Frontier is preparing an FY27 release slate that includes the launch of Planet Zoo 2.
