Genflow Biosciences Plc (LSE:GENF) has agreed a strategic technology collaboration with Acuitas Therapeutics that gives the UK‑listed gene therapy developer access to Acuitas’ lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery platform on a fully funded basis.
Under the deal Genflow will supply its proprietary SIRT6 mRNA payload; Acuitas will formulate it using its proprietary LNP technology and return the resulting formulations to Genflow for preclinical studies. Acuitas is funding the work in full — there is no cash consideration payable by Genflow and the arrangement is non‑dilutive to existing shareholders — and Genflow does not expect a material impact on near‑term revenues.
The programme’s immediate goal is to generate preclinical data to inform delivery optimisation, target tissue engagement and future commercial or partnering decisions. While the current agreement covers initial preclinical evaluation, it also establishes a formal framework for potential further development and strategic engagement between the parties, subject to the outcome of the work.
Acuitas is a privately held Vancouver company whose LNP platform has supported multiple landmark mRNA programmes. Genflow’s board says the collaboration represents a material step for its SIRT6 platform.
"For our shareholders, the headline facts are straightforward: we are gaining access to world‑class, clinically proven delivery technology at no cost and with no dilution." — Eric Leire, Chief Executive Officer of Genflow Biosciences (LSE:GENF).
