Zinc Media Group (LSE:ZIN) has created a Chief Content Officer role and appointed Ian Rumsey to run creative strategy across its portfolio. The move is designed to drive international expansion and a platform-agnostic push into streaming and digital channels.
Rumsey joins from ITN, where he is currently Chief Content Officer. His track record includes premium documentaries, factual entertainment and live programming; awards include a BAFTA and multiple RTS prizes. At ITN Productions he helped scale output to more than 1,000 hours a year and deepen relationships with global platforms including Netflix, Amazon and Warner Bros. Discovery. He also reunites with Zinc CEO Mark Browning, having worked together between 2013 and 2019.
At Zinc, Rumsey will oversee content across the Group’s 12 labels, aligning development and production to better serve global buyers and accelerate growth across digital and emerging platforms. Tanya Shaw, Managing Director of Zinc Television, will step down after leading the transformation and growth of the television division.
