Powerhouse Energy Group (LSE:PHE), the integrated waste-to-energy technology developer, has begun a contract with a Welsh battery developer to provide thermal processing expertise to modify test kilns and support novel anode material development, worth approximately £260,000 payable over eight months.
The work is billed as the company's first non-Engsolve revenue-earning project and involves practical kiln modification and development support rather than a licence or JV equity stake.
"We are delighted with the progress across a number of initiatives, including winning PHE's first non-Engsolve revenue-earning project, which endorses our technology and has the potential to provide meaningful revenues," Paul Emmitt, CEO, said.
Progress at the Ballymena project continues with a water and sewage application submitted to NI Water, a noise-study response filed, an air-quality response due imminently, Bridgend FTU testing of supplier waste underway, an underground services survey completed and a local specialist appointed ahead of permit application post-planning.
Powerhouse said its joint venture with Green Gecko is actively engaged in the Middle East and Europe, including collaboration with a Bahrain-based entity on waste-to-energy projects, and that it has introduced Green Gecko to National Waste to Energy (NW2E) as NW2E seeks initial funding to reach final investment decision alongside UK lender due diligence.
The recently signed marketing agreement with HUI is opening Central European opportunities currently being screened, and a no-win, no-fee sales and marketing agreement covering the Caribbean is live with feedstock testing already underway.
Powerhouse reports roughly ten live enquiries in its pipeline, each following a structured screening, NDA, data analysis, site visits, specific waste testing and techno-economic evaluation before potential progression to Feasibility Study or FEED.
