80 Mile (AIM:80M) announced it has started drilling at its Disko-Nuussuaq nickel-copper-cobalt and platinum group element project in West Greenland, launching what the AIM-listed explorer describes as its first systematic drill campaign at the site.
Two rigs are operating initially at high-priority zones around Qullissat on Disko Island, before the programme moves to targets on the Nuussuaq Peninsula later in the season.
The 2026 campaign covers up to 9,000 metres, expanded from an earlier plan of approximately 5,000 metres following integration of historical data with modern geophysical work that generated additional drill-ready targets.
The campaign is fully funded under a US$30 million earn-in agreement signed with USFM Corporation in late 2025, of which US$10 million is allocated to the current spring and summer programme.
80 Mile retains a 49% free-carried interest and manages the exploration work throughout.
Executive Director Roderick McIllree said the expanded programme reflected the "quality and number of priority targets" identified at the project, which covers approximately 3,020 square kilometres in a district the company considers analogous to the Norilsk magmatic sulphide belt in Siberia.
The company said it will provide updates as drilling progresses.
