Aterian, the LSE-listed critical minerals explorer, has commenced field operations under its joint venture with Lithosquare, an AI-driven exploration technology company, across priority projects in Morocco and Botswana.
The combined technical teams have completed a portfolio review and begun an integrated exploration workflow combining hyperspectral satellite imagery, AI-generated target ranking, geophysics, geochemistry and drilling, all processed through Lithosquare's proprietary Geology AI platform.
In Morocco, field programmes are underway across three projects: Agdz, Azrar and Tata, with geological mapping and trenching already commenced at Agdz and ground magnetic survey data currently being processed. The first reverse circulation drilling campaign is planned at Agdz.
In Botswana, the JV is advancing multiple licences across the Kalahari Copper Belt, with drone magnetic surveys and induced polarisation geophysics planned ahead of an initial drilling campaign at PL199/2025. Soil sampling results from PL2622/2023 are expected in late July.
"Within weeks of establishing the joint venture, our combined technical teams have completed a comprehensive review of the portfolio and commenced field programmes designed to accelerate discovery," said Charles Bray, Executive Chairman of Aterian.
The company said the programmes are designed to deliver regular operational newsflow over the coming months, with the Agdz and PL199/2025 drilling campaigns representing the nearest-term catalysts.
