Rockfire hits record zinc grade at Molaoi drill hole

Rockfire Resources (AIM:ROCK), the AIM-listed base metal, critical mineral and precious metal explorer, said laboratory results from hole HMO-021 at its 100%-owned Molaoi zinc deposit in Greece include the highest individual zinc grade ever recorded in laboratory analysis at the site.

A 0.34m interval within a broader 11m zone returned 51.1% zinc, 222g/t silver, 35.4g/t germanium and 2.4% lead, equating to a 72.3% zinc equivalent grade.

The wider 11m zone graded 5.0% zinc, 19g/t silver and 8g/t germanium from 238m downhole depth, equivalent to 7.7% zinc equivalent, while further intervals included 3.1m at 6.0% zinc, 25g/t silver and 9.5g/t germanium from 271.86m, and 2m at 5.2% zinc, 19.2g/t silver and 18.6g/t germanium from 310m.

Molaoi is a 100%-owned, exploration-stage zinc-lead-silver-germanium deposit that Rockfire has described as one of Europe's larger critical raw material deposits, carrying a JORC Inferred Mineral Resource of 15.0 Mt at 7.26% zinc, 1.75% lead and 39.50 g/t silver, with significant germanium credits.

"The interval of mineralisation drilled in hole HMO-021 is exceptional and we are very pleased to be getting such broad intervals of massive and semi-massive mineralisation," said David Price, chief executive officer of Rockfire.

The company's new Epiroc drilling rig is now due to arrive at Piraeus Port in Athens on 13 November, earlier than the 18 November date given when the rig was first announced, and will require customs clearance, transport to Molaoi, mechanical and safety inspection and vehicle registration before use.

Diamond drilling to upgrade the resource from Inferred to Indicated continues with hole HMO-022 in progress, which has returned portable XRF readings of up to 44.6% zinc and a peak silver reading of 72g/t at 238m depth.

Rockfire has also commissioned a drone-hosted aerial magnetic survey across the full licence area to help identify geological faults that may explain mineralisation offsets within the resource.

A maiden JORC Inferred germanium mineral resource estimate is underway, with GeoRes Mining Consultants running the estimate alongside an updated Inferred zinc resource.

Price said the company had secured a further contract with its drilling contractors in Athens "to ensure drilling remains continuous" during the rig's customs and certification process.
