Panmure Liberum has reiterated its 'buy' rating and 420p price target on Trainline following the online rail ticketing company's appointment of Ian Brown as chief executive.

Analyst Sean Kealy argues the hire looks well-suited, pointing to Brown's background running the Trips business unit at Booking.com and his most recent role as UK and Ireland CEO at Flutter Entertainment.

Brown joins on 7 September for a handover period with outgoing CEO Jody Ford, with his appointment taking effect on 28 September.

Kealy flags Brown's Booking.com experience as the standout credential, implying it should translate well to Trainline's consumer-facing travel platform and its push to grow international and ancillary revenues.
