British Land appoints Joanne McNamara as chief executive

The British Land Company (LSE:BLND) has appointed Joanne McNamara as Chief Executive Officer, with a maximum notice period of six months and an expected join date by the end of November at the latest.

McNamara joins the London-listed commercial property investment company from Oxford Properties where she is Executive Vice President, Europe, having joined Oxford in 2010, helped build its 70-plus European team and a portfolio with AUM of approximately £8 billion, and previously worked at Hammerson and DTZ.

She has more than twenty years' real estate experience, sits on Oxford's Global Executive and Investment Committees and OMERS' portfolio management committee, and until 2025 was a Non-Executive Director of ESR Group.

"With her deep expertise of real estate, valuable experience in the world of private capital and a strong reputation for decisive leadership, she is exceptionally well placed to drive the business forward," William Rucker, Chairman, said.
