Petards Group plc (AIM:PEG)'s subsidiary QRO Solutions has signed a four-year framework with Northumbria Police to provide fixed and mobile automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) equipment and related support, with the ANPR Lot in the tender estimated at £650,000 which QRO says is a floor.

The framework ranks QRO first in the Lot and makes it the preferred supplier for any direct awards placed under the agreement.

Petards is an AIM quoted developer of advanced security, communication and surveillance systems.

Northumbria and Durham are existing QRO customers and Cleveland is a new addition to QRO's UK policing client base, widening the group's potential addressable demand from regional forces.

QRO did not attach specific revenue guidance to the award but its characterisation of the £650,000 estimate as a floor signals potential upside to contract receipts over the four-year term.

"We are delighted to see customers are continuing to recognise QRO as a leading player in the UK ANPR market," Raschid Abdullah, Chairman of Petards Group plc.

The framework runs for four years.
