Avacta Group (AIM:AVCT), the London-based oncology drug developer, will present new clinical data at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, running from 23 to 27 October.
The company will show progression-free survival data and FAPI-PET imaging results from patients with salivary gland cancer enrolled in the expansion cohort of its ongoing Phase 1a/1b trial of faridoxorubicin, known as AVA6000.
A second poster will detail the design of the Phase 1 FOCUS-01 trial alongside updated preclinical data for AVA6103, Avacta's second clinical candidate.
AVA6000 uses the company's pre|CISION platform, which targets fibroblast activation protein (FAP) in the tumour microenvironment to release doxorubicin selectively at the tumour site while limiting exposure elsewhere in the body.
In reporting from the same expansion cohort earlier this year, Avacta disclosed four confirmed partial responses and nine minor responses among 38 evaluable salivary gland cancer patients, with a 92% disease control rate at the recommended dose of 310 mg/m2.
The faridoxorubicin presentation is scheduled for 26 October, and will be delivered by authors including Renata Ferrarotto and Alan L. Ho.
AVA6103, Avacta's FAP-enabled peptide-drug conjugate delivering sustained release of exatecan, is already in the FOCUS-01 trial, where the company reported clinical proof of mechanism last month across the first three dose levels in 19 patients, with no neutropenia observed and pharmacokinetics matching preclinical predictions.
That trial continues to enrol across two dosing arms, with first efficacy data including tumour biopsy results expected in the first half of 2027.
