Quantum Data Energy (LSE:QDE) has raised £1m gross through a placing of 38.46m new shares at 2.6p each to help fund the expeditious completion of an immediate growth opportunity that will add MWs to its portfolio.

The company, a developer of flexible generation power projects, said the proceeds are intended specifically to support that immediate project and expedite progress towards its initial 300 MW portfolio target, and it is separately in advanced term-sheet negotiations with a UK institutional investor for project-level capex finance.

The new shares will bring the enlarged share capital to 261.59m shares, meaning the placing represents roughly 14.7% of the enlarged share capital.

The placing was arranged by Fortified Securities acting as sole corporate broker and the company noted the issue price is a premium to its prior raise in February 2026.

"The raise has been undertaken to support the expeditious completion of an immediate growth opportunity that will make a meaningful contribution to QDE's portfolio of MWs in production," the company said.

Admission of the placing shares is expected to become effective at 8.00 a.m. On 30 April and Quantum expects to announce a binding project funding agreement in Q2.
