Agronomics portfolio company HydGene picked for Greentown Go Make 2026

Agronomics' portfolio company HydGene Renewables has been selected for the Greentown Go Make 2026 open-innovation programme, gaining structured access to Shell Catalysts & Technologies and Technip Energies to advance its low-carbon hydrogen technology.

Agronomics Limited's (AIM:ANIC) portfolio company HydGene Renewables has been chosen as one of five startups, from 148 applicants, to join "Greentown Go Make 2026", a programme that's focused on catalytic solutions for industrial decarbonisation.

It is an open-innovation programme run by Greentown Labs, in collaboration with Shell Catalysts & Technologies and Technip Energies.

HydGene, which develops a modular biocatalyst systems to produce low-carbon hydrogen and industrial chemicals from waste biomass, and it will now have opportunities to work directly with Shell and Technip technical and engineering teams on technical validation, process design, scale-up, operational implementation, market channel validation and potential pilots or demonstrations.

"HydGene's selection for the Greentown Go Make 2026 programme is a strong validation of its technology and its potential role in industrial decarbonisation, and working alongside Shell and Technip Energies can accelerate deployment," said Jim Mellon, Executive Chair of Agronomics.

Agronomics noted that it has previously invested £1.3 million in HydGene, which had a reported net asset value of £140 million as of 31 December 2025.
