Cobra Resources (LSE:COBR), a South Australian mineral exploration and development company, has commenced diamond drilling at the Manna Hill project, in South Australia, to test for scale extensions to the shallow, high‑grade copper‑gold mineralisation at Blue Rose and for a deeper intrusive‑related porphyry source.
The programme comprises up to six holes for approximately 1,800m, with two holes targeting the Black Baccara porphyry IP anomaly and four holes aimed at depth continuity to high‑grade skarn, and is expected to be completed in approximately 40 days while operating on double shifts.
"This diamond programme is specifically designed to test for depth continuity to the high‑grade skarn mineralisation and to evaluate the potential for a deeper porphyry source," said Rupert Verco, Managing Director.
Recent reverse circulation drilling results that drive the programme include 74m at 1.02% Cu and 0.25 g/t Au from 70m, 62m at 1.0% Cu and 0.08 g/t Au from 62m, and 86m at 0.60% Cu and 0.14 g/t Au from 18m.
Diamond core will supply geological, structural and petrophysical data to refine the targeting model and to support future resource and extensional drilling.
The Manna Hill project contains multiple early‑stage porphyry and skarn prospects in South Australia and sits along the national railway and Barrier Highway between Broken Hill and Adelaide.
Cobra expects to update shareholders as drill results are received.
