Oracle Power (AIM:ORCP), the AIM-listed international project developer, said consultants Resources WA have completed key technical studies supporting two permit applications for its Kalgoorlie Gold Project in Western Australia.
The studies feed into the Native Vegetation Clearing Permit and the Mine Development and Closure Proposal, both required before the company can secure an operating permit and begin open pit mining 25 km east of Kalgoorlie.
Geotechnical reports found the proposed waste dump designs carry high factors of safety, while pit slope designs achieved factors of safety above 1.33 at bench and inter-ramp scales.
Hydrology work put the water table at approximately 37 metres below surface, with low site permeability suggesting groundwater inflows pose little operational or geotechnical risk.
Soil and waste characterisation studies concluded the rock material is predominantly non-acid forming with substantial acid-neutralising capacity, pointing to minimal risk of acid mine drainage.
"The reports necessary for the NVCP and the MDCP show no material issues on soils, geotechnical and water studies for our Kalgoorlie Gold Project, which is a great result," said Naheed Memon, chief executive of Oracle Power.
The Native Vegetation Clearing Permit application is in its final stages, with submission expected within weeks.
The Mine Development and Closure Plan is approximately 60% complete and remains on track for submission to the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
Oracle Power's technical consultants have cleared geotechnical, hydrology and soil studies for its Kalgoorlie Gold Project with no material red flags—waste dump and pit slope designs show high safety factors, the water table sits 37 metres down with low permeability risk, and rock is predominantly non-acid forming. The Native Vegetation Clearing Permit is in final stages for submission within weeks, while the Mine Development and Closure Plan is 60% complete; both are prerequisites for an operating permit. This removes a key technical hurdle on the path to mining, following the grant of Mining Lease M25/389 in July 2026.
The clearance of technical studies de-risks the permitting pathway and validates the project's engineering assumptions, but Oracle Power remains in the regulatory approval phase—neither permit has been submitted or granted yet. The company's investment case now hinges on timely permit approvals and, critically, on whether the 50/50 profit-share funding arrangement with MEGA Resources translates into committed capital for development.
