H-Power (AIM:HPOW) revealed that its LC30 fuel cell generator has received a required validation by a European regulator, securing an Attestation of Conformity award from the TÜV SÜD, Germany's certification agency.

The AIM-listed company supplies ammonia-based low-carbon hydrogen production and hydrogen-to-power systems, including modular ammonia crackers and fuel cell generators aimed at displacing diesel generators.

TÜV SÜD's attestation confirms the LC30 meets the safety and performance standards needed for the CE Mark, a prerequisite for commercial sales in Europe and one also recognised in the UK and other markets.

The company said the certification arrived in August, in line with its previously stated timetable, marking a further delivery milestone as the LC30 heads toward commercial deployment.

The attestation also satisfies a CE certification requirement attached to a 15-unit LC30 replenishment order placed by Speedy Hire for the companies' Speedy Hydrogen Solutions joint venture.

"The receipt of such attestation fulfils the CE certification requirement set out in the 15 LC30 fuel cell generator replenishment order received from Speedy Hire for our Speedy Hydrogen Solutions joint venture and provides other partners and customers with assurance that the LC30 fuel cell generator complies with applicable EU health, safety, performance and environmental standards", said John Wilson, chief executive of H-Power.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

H-Power's LC30 fuel cell generator has cleared TÜV SÜD certification for the CE Mark, a regulatory prerequisite for commercial sales across Europe and recognised markets. The attestation, received in August as planned, directly satisfies a certification requirement tied to a 15-unit replenishment order from Speedy Hire for the Speedy Hydrogen Solutions joint venture, removing a contractual gate and signalling the product is ready for deployment.

Knock-on
  • The certification unblocks the Speedy Hire order, which can now proceed to delivery and revenue recognition.
  • CE marking opens H-Power's LC30 to broader European customer acquisition beyond the Speedy Hydrogen Solutions partnership.
Investment case

This is a regulatory box-ticked rather than a commercial win—the product meets safety standards, but the company still depends on customer adoption and deployment volumes to prove market demand. The timing alignment with prior guidance reinforces execution credibility, though the investment case remains anchored to whether hydrogen-to-power systems displace diesel generators at scale.
