Georgina Energy, an AIM-listed helium and hydrogen explorer focused on onshore Australia, has agreed the terms of an Aboriginal Land Rights Agreement with the Central Land Council, a critical step toward securing exploration permit EP155 at its Mt Winter prospect in the Amadeus Basin.
The agreement will be submitted to Traditional Owners for execution before passing to the Northern Territory Minister of Mines and Energy for formal granting of the permit, which has been under unsuccessful application for more than 16 years under previous companies.
Mt Winter carries prospective recoverable resources of 283 billion cubic feet of helium and 214 billion cubic feet of hydrogen at the P50 level, alongside 1,734 billion cubic feet of hydrocarbon gas.
On granting, Georgina will pay A$300,000 to Mosman Oil and Gas from existing working capital to complete the permit acquisition, taking a 100% interest in EP155.
"This is an important step toward the granting of EP155 and our planned re-entry and development programme at Mt Winter," said chief executive Anthony Hamilton.
Georgina now has two active development workstreams: Mt Winter progressing toward formal ministerial grant, and the Hussar prospect in Western Australia's Officer Basin advancing through pre-drill civil engineering ahead of a planned third-quarter 2026 drilling programme.
