Bloomsbury 'confident' as it repeats full-year profit guidance

Bloomsbury Publishing (LSE:BMY), the independent publisher, told shareholders, ahead of it AGM, that it expects to deliver record adjusted profit in line with expectations for the year ending 28 February 2027.

Giving context, it noted current consensus market expectations £354.2m for revenue and adjusted profit is forecast at £49.9m for the year.

The publisher highlighted a slate of new titles including books by Sarah J. Maas, Gillian Anderson, Katherine Rundell, Samantha Shannon, Louise Kennedy, Dan Jones and Peter Frankopan.

It also highlighted the Christmas 2025 launch of HBO's new Harry Potter television series, which the company expects to introduce the novels to a new generation of readers.

Bloomsbury added that it continues to benefit from ongoing AI licensing revenue in the current year, while the Academic & Professional Division is growing across all territories year to date when that licensing income is excluded.

The company will provide further detail alongside its interim results in October.
