Light Science Technologies Holdings (AIM:LST) said UK Circuits and Electronics Solutions has entered a manufacturing partnership with a leading provider of workforce management and access control solutions serving the construction and infrastructure sectors.

In an update, it also told investors it has acquired the partner's Surface Mount Technology production line for installation and commissioning at its Oldham facility.

The equipment purchase and partnership increase one of UK Circuits' three manufacturing lines, lifting component placement throughput by about 40-50% while delivering improved placement accuracy, greater feeder capacity and an upgraded software platform.

An initial manufacturing order of about £70,000 has been received for the current financial year and the partner has indicated potential total orders of up to £200,000 in the same period, subject to the value of transitional levels of free-issue components UK Circuits must use to clear the partner's remaining stocks.

The project covers the manufacture of four printed circuit board assemblies for industrial control systems relating to fire safety.

Installation and commissioning of the SMT line have been completed and production has already begun under the new arrangement.
