Newmark Security completes sale of Safetell

Newmark Security (AIM:NWT) has completed the disposal of the entire issued share capital of Safetell, following clearance under the National Security and Investment Act 2021 and satisfaction of other customary conditions.

The company, a provider of secure people-data solutions for human capital management (HCM) systems listed on AIM under NWT, first disclosed the transaction in an announcement on 29 July.

Safetell had weighed on the group's recent performance: the physical security installations business reported losses in the second half of its last financial year after roughly £1.2m of installations slipped into FY27, prompting the board to launch an accelerated strategic review.

That review concluded with exclusive negotiations to sell the business, which management had flagged would not generate net cash proceeds on completion.

Chief executive Marie-Claire Dwek said in May, as the review was announced, that HCM represents the future of the group.

The disposal formalises Newmark's pivot toward HCM, which drove the bulk of FY26 growth: HCM revenue rose 27% to £19.5m, with North American HCM revenue up 43% to £14.1m, while group net debt excluding leases had climbed to £4.8m at the end of April from £2.1m a year earlier, partly reflecting Safetell funding needs.

Audited FY26 results are due in early September.
