Journeo renews London bus framework worth £6m

Journeo has renewed its framework agreement with Transport UK London Bus, securing revenue of £6m over a five-year term running to October 2031.

The AIM-listed company, which supplies intelligent systems for transport networks and critical national infrastructure, will equip Transport UK's existing London bus fleet with CCTV, vehicle gateway technology and related equipment.

Transport UK operates 1,000 buses across more than 65 Transport for London services, and is part of the wider Transport UK Group, which also runs regional bus services and major rail contracts across the UK.

The scope covers 70 ancillary vehicles alongside new buses entering the fleet and vehicles transferred from other operators following route contract awards through London's competitive tendering process.

All vehicles will connect to Journeo's secure software-as-a-service platform, the Journeo Portal, allowing Transport UK's incident management teams to retrieve operational data and evidence packs and share information securely with authorised users including the Metropolitan Police.

"Transport UK was among the first operators to adopt the Journeo Portal and our accompanying on-board technology," said chief executive Russ Singleton, adding that the renewal "reflects the value our solutions deliver in supporting day-to-day operations".

The agreement extends a relationship Journeo has already built with Transport UK through earlier deployment of the Portal and on-board technology, reinforcing the recurring software and support revenue stream the company has been building alongside its hardware installation business across its bus and rail customer base.
