Rockfire Resources (AIM:ROCK) reported a 54.3% zinc portable X‑ray fluorescence (pXRF) reading from hole HMO-016 at 314.5m downhole, the second-highest zinc grade recorded at Molaoi after a historical 62.0% in hole B027.
The company said HMO-016 has returned several narrow, high-grade intervals with additional pXRF spot readings of 39.9%, 35.8% and 27.0% Zn in the same zone, plus lead values to 31.8% Pb and silver hits to 470g/t and 382g/t Ag.
A deeper intersection at 407m also returned multiple high-spot pXRF zinc values including 12.4%, 13.0% and 12.2% Zn and an average silver pXRF of 44.8g/t in that interval.
Further downhole, individual pXRF readings at 418m and 422m included zinc results to 18.2% Zn and silver to 118g/t, and a 0.88% Cu reading was recorded at 424m.
Rockfire cautioned pXRF is a guide only and does not detect germanium, and it has sent HMO-016 core to a laboratory for full analytical assays while results from HMO-015 remain awaited.
Chief executive David Price said the company has ordered a new Rockfire-owned drilling rig, a deposit has been paid, and delivery to Athens is expected by the end of October.
