East Star Resources, the Kazakhstan-focused gold and copper explorer, reported results from an induced polarisation (IP) survey at its Snowy epithermal target in Central Kazakhstan.
The survey identified a discrete chargeability anomaly spanning roughly 1,700 metres west to east, starting at 100 metres depth, with amplitudes of 7 to 9 milliseconds per volt (mV/V), a range the company said is plausible for low sulphidation epithermal targets.
The anomaly remains open at both ends and lies over an intensely altered tuff unit with numerous quartz veinlets, approximately 1km east of IP lines completed in 2025.
Mitre Geophysics, which handled quality control and interpretation, noted the survey did not achieve its designed charge input, meaning the results may understate the true scale of the chargeability response.
"The target sits between two known gold deposits of similar mineralisation and with gold samples at surface it remains a compelling target," said CEO Alex Walker.
Walker added that the company will weigh timing for further work at Snowy against its other exploration commitments, including fieldwork under its joint venture with Endeavour Mining.
News Intelligence what this means for the company
East Star's IP survey at Snowy identified a 1,700-metre east-west chargeability anomaly at 100+ metres depth with amplitudes of 7–9 mV/V, consistent with low-sulphidation epithermal targets and open at both ends. However, the survey underperformed its design charge input, meaning the true anomaly strength may be masked—a material caveat that limits confidence in the result until follow-up work clarifies the signal.
Snowy remains early-stage reconnaissance; the anomaly is geologically plausible but undrilled and constrained by survey limitations. CEO Walker flagged timing uncertainty against other commitments, including the Endeavour Mining joint venture, suggesting Snowy is not an immediate priority relative to more advanced projects.
