Tekcapital (LSE:TEK), the AIM-listed intellectual property investment group, said portfolio company Guident has signed a 36-month agreement with Coastal Waste & Recycling.

Coastal operates more than 40 waste and recycling sites across Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

The deal expands an existing relationship and covers deployment of Guident's WatchBot autonomous inspection robots alongside its AI-powered software platform and ongoing operational support.

The robots will conduct autonomous facility patrols, with Guident's software handling data analysis, alerting and centralised workflow management.

Capabilities include thermal inspections, early fire detection on loaded trucks, asset damage identification, personal protective equipment compliance checks and tank cage monitoring.

"By combining autonomous inspection robotics with our AI-powered software platform, coupled with ongoing operational support, we're delivering a turn-key safety solution designed to reduce risk, improve inspection consistency, and strengthen operational oversight," said Harald Braun, Guident's Executive Chairman and CEO.

Tekcapital's Executive Chairman, Dr Clifford Gross, said Guident's shift from pilot contracts to long-term commercial agreements is "well underway", with continued revenue growth expected across mobility, robotics and public transportation markets.

Guident raised $2 million in May and is working towards a public listing in 2026, which Gross said could help crystallise balance sheet value and broaden participation in the company's scale-up.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Guident, Tekcapital's robotics portfolio company, has converted a pilot relationship with Coastal Waste & Recycling into a three-year commercial contract for autonomous inspection robots and AI monitoring software across 40+ waste sites in the southeastern US. The deal signals Guident's transition from proof-of-concept to recurring revenue, though the contract value is undisclosed and cannot be sized against Tekcapital's $201.7m net assets or Guident's $2m May fundraise.

Investment case

The contract validates Guident's commercial traction ahead of its targeted 2026 public listing, which management expects could crystallise balance sheet value for Tekcapital. However, without revenue figures or contract value, the deal's material impact on Tekcapital's earnings or portfolio valuation remains opaque.
