Fiinu (AIM:BANK), the AIM-listed UK fintech group, said its Plugin Overdraft platform has moved into the production environment with partner Conister Bank, a subsidiary of Manx Financial Group PLC.

The move follows an addendum to the pair's existing Master Services Agreement, which updates the implementation timetable and long-term commercial framework governing the deployment.

Fiinu describes Plugin Overdraft as the world's first unbundled overdraft solution, allowing customers to access an overdraft alongside an account held at another bank rather than switching their primary current account.

The initial use case will give Conister Bank a route to offer overdraft facilities to customers of Payment Assist, which has an existing base of approximately 1.5 million customers.

Conister Bank intends to widen the proposition to its own customers and the broader market over time, subject to adoption and successful implementation.

Fiinu is also progressing discussions with financial institutions outside the UK and Isle of Man on deploying the technology.

"We believe this creates a compelling and disruptively innovative new proposition for Conister Bank, retail customers and other banks," said Dr Marko Sjoblom, Fiinu's chief executive.

Douglas Grant of Conister Bank said the parties are focused on "completing the remaining implementation activities and progressing towards launch", with the proof-of-concept launch targeted for the year-end.

News Intelligence what this means for the company

Fiinu and Conister Bank have moved their Plugin Overdraft platform into production, updating their commercial framework and targeting a year-end proof-of-concept launch. The move advances the white-label deployment that Fiinu says will be the primary driver of revenue growth and validation of its go-to-market model, but remains a technical milestone short of commercial traction—the PoC is still months away, and Conister's initial addressable market (Payment Assist's ~1.5m customers) is unproven for overdraft uptake.

Investment case

Production entry is a necessary step, but does not yet validate demand or unit economics. With cash of £3.94m funding roughly 18 months of operations, Fiinu has runway to reach the PoC launch and early adoption signals; success here is existential to the investment thesis, but the company remains pre-revenue validation on its core product.
