First Development Resources (AIM:FDR) has commenced site preparation at the Lander West Gold Target within its flagship Selta Project in Australia's Northern Territory, bringing the company to the threshold of its first-ever drilling campaign.

The UK-based, Australia-focused mineral exploration company says its field team is now on site undertaking access track construction, drill pad establishment and geological reconnaissance ahead of a maiden Phase I reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme.

All regulatory approvals and statutory requirements are complete.

GeoDrill Australia's drill rig is expected to arrive at Lander West within days, with drilling to follow once mobilisation and final site preparations are concluded.

The programme will test high-priority gold targets identified along the Stafford Gold Trend through an integrated geological, geochemical and geophysical campaign conducted over recent months.

"With our field team now on site and the drill rig expected to arrive in the coming days, we are entering an exciting new phase for the Company," said chief executive Tristan Pottas.

Exploration Manager Dr David Rawlings, described as recently appointed, will oversee execution of the drilling campaign.
