Journeo plc (LSE:JNEO) said the £1.7m of purchase orders cover the supply, installation and maintenance of passenger information displays and associated bus stop infrastructure, including eco‑friendly bus shelter technology, for a large local authority in the South of England.

The company said displays and shelters will be located on key transport corridors throughout the authority, linking rural communities to its metropolitan centres.

Display technology will include Journeo's latest ultra‑low power screens that pair batteries with solar panels to harvest renewable energy and achieve complete off‑grid operation, the announcement added.

The work sits squarely in Journeo’s Information Systems segment, which designs, manufactures, installs and supports passenger information display solutions managed through content management systems. Over the past four years the group has invested more than £8.0m in research and development, the company said.

"We have a longstanding relationship with the local authority and are delighted to have been selected to support them as they transition to solutions that support their Carbon Net Zero goals, whilst simultaneously supporting the transport network," said Journeo CEO Russ Singleton.

"The flexibility of our ultra-low power solutions enables rapid deployment without the need for expensive civil works, cutting cost, carbon and complexity in delivery for our customers."
